But when he, who from my mother's womb had set me apart and called me through his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son to me, so that I might proclaim him to the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult flesh and blood, nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were Apostles before me; instead, I went into Arabia and then returned to Damascus.- Gal 1:15-17
Friends, God is good, all the time.
Life begins from conception in the womb but belongs there or ends there. God makes life to belong to the world, to human community, a people aware that they are all made in the image and likeness of God. The revelation that human life transcends human biology and biotechnological activities comes to our notice through the prophetic ministries of many servants of God. Take Paul, who tells us that God chose him to proclaim his Son Jesus to the world from his mother's womb, and Jeremiah, who was told by the Lord of his prophetic mission before his conception in his mother's womb.
The remarkable thing about the truth of the sacredness of human life from conception is that either by anticipation or actual objection, Paul calls on God as his chief witness to this doctrine, "As to what I am writing to you, behold, before God, I am not lying."
We need to appreciate the reality of the sacredness of life that transcends our mere existence to the mission God assigns us in life. Again, consider how the profound issue about life's origin in the womb for Paul and Jeremiah is tied to their mission. God told Jeremiah that before he formed him in the womb, he already appointed him as a prophet(Cf( Jer 1: 5), and Paul enlightens us in these words, “When he, who from my mother's womb had set me apart and called me through his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son to me, so that I might proclaim him to the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult flesh and blood, nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were Apostles before me; instead, I went into Arabia and then returned to Damascus.”
We have a great need to soberly reflect on the magnificence of life's existence and its mission assigned before every conception. Such a reflection should permeate the Christian thinking that the determination of someone's life and mission ought to be weighed on the divine right scale. We know how it often fails on the " my right" scale and becomes a deprivation to families, societies, and the world of many talents, leaders, and saviors. St. Paul understood this reality concerning his original mission, telling us how he "did not immediately consult flesh and blood" on matters that naturally transcend the human realm.
If our creation is to accomplish a mission, we should never cease to ask why we are truly living. There is a purpose for every conception of life right from the womb. It is for the same purpose we live that others should live too. And to discern our precise life's purpose, we must continuously ask the Lord where we truly belong. I believe that everyone belongs to God and to the world of human the community. Prayer blessings: The Angelus- The Angel of the Lord declared to Mary: And she conceived of the Holy Spirit. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
