"But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. Amen, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it and hear what you hear but did not hear it."-Matt 13:1617
Friends,
God is good all the time.
God delights in us and wants us to love Him. God never hides His feelings towards His beloved children. He makes both His love and jealousy of His love known to us. You wonder, why will God be jealous? Here is the thing; it is because He is not ashamed of you. God made you and knew you before you were born. He says to Jeremiah, "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart” (Jer. 1:5). He knew everything about you and accepted you before you came to the world.
God is not concerned about anyone’s age, height, looks, abilities as people are. He is not disappointed whether we achieve so much in life or little. He does not care whether you failed at something or made mistakes multiple times in your career, education, marriage, parenting, upbringing, and other responsibilities.
God cares only about two things. He is concerned about your heart and your love. He desires you. Therefore, exchange the glory and appreciation of the Lord with nothing. This divine desire and jealousy for us are expressed poetically like a lover reminiscing the joy of missed love by Jeremiah "I remember your youth's devotion. How you loved me as a bride, following me in the desert, in a land unsown. Sacred to the LORD was Israel, the first fruits of his harvest; Should any presume to partake of them, evil would befall them, says the LORD (Jeremiah 2:2-3).
Recognize the Lord with the joy and enthusiasm of youth. You remember the feeling when you were going to receive your First Holy Communion? What about Confirmation? That I- cannot- wait-to taste enthusiasm is what God misses. He remembers. So, recognize these moments and give your love to Him again. Jesus said it beautifully to us, "But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. Amen, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it and hear what you hear but did not hear it."-Matt 13:1617.
Being a Christian is a super privilege. There is more to it than the eye can see, or ears hear. Therefore, recognize your God and return His love. Go back for the childhood love. And if you have forgotten how it felt like, ask Jesus to remind you of it.
Prayer blessing: As a mother never forgets her child, you never forget me, oh Lord. Help me to concentrate on building our eternal loving relationship. Amen.
