... "Go, for this man is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before Gentiles, kings, and children of Israel, and I will show him what he will have to suffer for my name "... (Acts 22:3-16).
God is good, all the time.
Friends, today's Gospel is a flashback of the ascension scene. The apostles are standing with the resurrected Lord, probably in disbelief seeing him. Then Jesus instructs them to carry out the mission to evangelize the world.
Jesus the apostles to "go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned." So, the preaching of the Gospel must continue. People should know about how much God loves and cares about them.
The Gospel of Jesus has remained with us for over 2000 years, and its impeccable hold on people continues in our day. It is the same gospel; so, it must engage our attention as Christians in the same way that “all the people hung on his words” (Lk 19:48). It also causes surpassing conversions like that of Paul and Constantine, miraculous healings, remarkable growth in the Church, and daily personal victories over challenging situations for Christians. That is why Christians can always trust the gospel and count on it.
Christians are charged to bring the Gospel with us to others. What is your unique way of preaching the gospel, and who is your audience? Try to target someone or a group of people and see if you can bring the gospel to them. Find ways to make your life the language for speaking the gospel.
Christians are influential when their lives become the gospel's language that people can learn to speak. When Jesus said, "The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life," (Cf. Jn 6:63), he indicated that the gospel must be lived and spoken at the same time, and there is no more powerful language for expressing the gospel in both dimensions of speaking and living it than a graceful Christian life.
Prayer blessings:Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
